Disappointing Loss

September 27, 2013 –  The Cavemen faced off against the Lone Peak Knights last friday night. Everyone was heading into the game knowing that AF is a better team. We all dressed warmly for the first really cold night of the season. The bright side of the first quarter was that the defense stopped Lone Peak from getting a touchdown on the two yard line and Zach Katoa ran an awesome 5 yard touchdown. Unfortunately, American Fork had a hard time keeping the ball moving in the first half. By the end of the third quarter, the game looked ugly. The referees had more yards than both teams combined–it was nothing but flag after flag. I haven’t seen a game that ugly before. AF fought back after a couple of turnovers in the second half. Tanner Smith grabbed a 4 yard touchdown with under two minutes remaining. American Fork couldn’t get the ball back to save the game. They lost 21-14.

It was a tough game to watch. The good news is that American Fork will be playing at home for the next three out of four games. Next Friday come and support the Cavemen at home after their heart breaking loss.
