October 4, 2013 – The Cavemen played a great game against the Mustangs. Hayden Johnson caught a wide open 61 yard touchdown in the first quarter. Our explosive player Zach Katoa did an epic zig zag from one sideline to the other all the way to the end zone. What moves! Jonah Trinnaman closed the first half with a kick return. American Fork fought back after a couple of turnovers in the late third quarter and early fourth quarter.
American Fork was behind by 10 points. I thought it would have been easy for the team to just give up. I was ready to go home and drink a hot cocoa. Then the defense stepped up! They were able to get the ball back and gave the offense a chance to win. Zach ran another awesome 25 yard touchdown. Jonah grabbed a 14 yard touchdown to put the Cavemen back on top with a minute left. The defense shut down the burning engine of the Mustangs. Wow! What a great comeback! AF beat Herriman 38-36. Next Wednesday American Fork will be facing Lehi at home. It will be a big game.
