October 18, 2013 –
The Cavemen faced off against the Pleasant Grove Vikings. Everyone was heading into the game thinking that AF would thump PG. The Vikings dominated in the first quarter. Jonah Trinnaman grabbed an awesome 13 yard over-the-shoulder touchdown pass. They closed the first half with a 30 yard field goal. American Fork fought back after a couple of turnovers in the late third quarter and early fourth quarter. Hayden Johnson caught a fantastic 6 yard touchdown. With two minutes remaining, our famous Zach Katoa stole back the lead with an amazing 25 yard touchdown. Unfortunately, the defense couldn’t stop the Vikings. They lost 26-23. It was hard having the victory taken away just a few plays later.
The game turned out differently than most people thought, but lucky it was a close game instead of blow out game. American Fork is a tough team, but they need to limit the turnovers. Friday night is the last game before the playoffs start. Come and support the Cavemen at home against Wasatch.
